Why have a Daily Spiritual Practice?

Having a daily spiritual practice helps us to come back to our center, our heart, our soul self. It supports us to remember what is most important in our day to day lives. There are so many ways to have a daily spiritual practice for each person because we are all different with different beliefs. Life can be crazy sometimes, daunting even. There is so much coming at us in a world filled with technology. The news with ongoing crisis, social media and the pressures to keep up, competitive lifestyles in urban cities can take us off our personal paths. There may also be stresses and pressures from our families and friends.

I help all my clients to have a daily spiritual practice if they are interested. To start our day with a way to recenter and self regulate. A meditation to realign with what is most important in our lives, whatever this is for each person on their spiritual path. For some it may be having a morning yoga practice to awaken the self for the day. For another it may be a fifteen minute meditation to calm the mind. I help anyone who would like a daily spiritual practice to start their day with an intention of coming back to center.

Some Suggestions for a 15 minute Daily Spiritual Practice

  • Self love journal writing
  • Meditating with Highest Self for guidance
  • Meditative walk in nature
  • Being present sitting in the sun at the park
  • Prayers for gratitude and asking for help
  • Tibetan singing bowl for sound healing
  • Chanting an affirmation
  • Listening to a guided visualization
  • Quiet meditation to calm the mind
  • Singing for joyfulness
  • Meditating on an intention for the day
  • Lighting incense on your home altar in meditation
  • Listening to a spiritual podcast

What Can I Get Out of Having a Spiritual Practice?

Being present is a desired outcome from having a daily spiritual practice. To be present with each moment and not living from the past or jumping into the future creates inner strength. Staying present is a place of personal power to have clarity to make loving choices in a grounded centered way.

When you come in for Reiki healing sessions with me, I assist each client to find the best spiritual practice that fits their lifestyle if they are interested. It will be different for each person what they attain from their daily spiritual practice, but there is usually is a calming of the mind. There is a recentering with intention to come more into a balance with the heart. Feeling more connected to oneself, remembering what is most important to ourselves. Being on a spiritual path usually means coming back to self love and love of others. With this as an intention life can come to more balance, having clarity as to what is most important to us. With this clarity we can move forward with loving kindness towards ourselves and others.
